last night, Jason and I practiced being parents with a dear friend’s newborn (how brave is she to leave him in novice hands) for a few hours.  what can i say except that we definitely have a long way to go :)  we signed up for ‘baby practice time’ in hopes that when Audrey gets here we’d be a bit more efficient @ infant care.  and even if we aren’t as quick as a Nascar pit crew at diapering, we feel a little more comfortable with newborns even with just one evening under our belts. 

projects to get ready for her have definitely taken priority for quite a bit of our evening time together and it’s fun having this little flurry of activity going on. 

all next week is devoted to print orders.  there are a handful of large ones that I’ll be focusing my attention on. better scoot – i’m off to photograph two darling twins (amelia & alex).  -m-

look at these adorable houses!  i remember the days of contemplating living in a houseboat, treehouse (sark mentioned that a community of these really exist in one of her books…somewhere in california) or some other situation that would make me seriously pare down my book collection.  i’m happy as can be right where i am but these look dreamy to me…if i ever move out of a neighborhood, i’d set one of these up as a little spot so friends could come and stay as long as they liked.

oh, and a tiny bit of personal & fun news – it looks like Audrey will be arriving a bit earlier than expected (closer to March 10th rather than March 22nd)…she’s running out of room in my belly (i think my prenatal vitamins have miracle gro in them).  -m-

since i don’t work in the typical office environment, I’m always forgetting about holidays like this and caught by surprise when there’s no mail or the bank is closed…but nonetheless, happy presidents day!  (i love any reason to celebrate…we keep a list of little family holidays like the day we closed on our first home, graduated from college, etc just so there are plenty of reasons each month for a run to missy’s pie on woodland ave) -m-

thankfully for only about 2.5 full seconds total but it was fun to see Jessica & Jason’s wedding that I’d photographed last October on E!’s show Dr. 90201 (Jason is one of the doctors that they profile). -m-
