these make me very, very happy

i adore decorating with photos! have you ever tried to do this sort of arrangement?  if so, you’ll realize these are GOLD!  oh, and weren’t you thinking of getting some more cool prints from your mmp portrait session/wedding (insert wink here)?  -m-

calling all sea shells

if you have a really striking sea shell that you wouldn’t mind if I borrowed for a couple weeks, let me know (I’ll make you a gorgeous print of the result as a thank you!)…i try to do a personal photo project each year and this fall I’m wanting to create a sepia toned collection of sea shell prints.  there’s something really wonderful and contemplative about studying something for 10-30 minutes…and I think it may be the perfect remedy for the days when there seems to be so much whirling around. -m-

mary poppins

Mary
love talking with my friend Susan because she always has her ear to the ground about great stuff – first, this hotel in L-ville and second, the showing of Mary Poppins @ the Kentucky on July 5th (come and be there early because it sold out last year) as part of their Summer Classics series!  fun!  there are a bunch of other good ones, too. -m-

P.S. check out ‘Shelter’ and ‘Trouble’ on iTunes by Ray LaMontagne if you’re in the mood for some fresh music.  he’s going to be in Knoxville with Guster in July – good concert!

happy birthday to me!

big news – i’m 30!  loving it so far!  life keeps getting better and better and i like getting to try on a new decade for size…headed to my most favorite restaurant in the world again for dinner with J.  yay!  purposefully kept the day clear of appts – taking the day off to hang with audrey, do a little scrapbooking and want to head over to see susannah’s new shoppe, Dragonfly (4371 Old Harrodsburg Haba
Rd  Lex,KY 40513). it’s officially open and i can’t wait to see all the stuff.  i’ve been getting little previews here and there much to my delight (there’s a too-cute polka dotted sundress).  she carries all the great stuff she loves from nyc children’s stores.  it’s so exciting to see something new hatch like that and i want to give her an official ‘shout out’ so everyone knows where they can find something hip & fabulous for the pint-size crowd.  she’s been such a pleasure to get to know, gives miss audrey the cutest hand-me-downs from her daughter Sophia, and is going to be a rock-star shoppe girl!  -m-

update: visited Dragonfly & loved it – found this cute little flower rattle for Audrey! to get there, take Harrodsburg Rd to Military Pike (you’ll notice it just after you pass Ramsey’s), turn Right and then take an immediate Right again and you’ll be at the shopping center. if you aren’t in lexington, you can find great european toys at moolka :)

quote of the day

love wednesdays, i have lunch with my mom and it’s such a treat to visit mid-day!!  found this in my inbox from Real Simple:
Just living is not enough…one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little
flower.

completely agreed! i’m going to step outside and clip a pretty hydrangea to enjoy on my desk. -m-
