hotel des arts in san francisco looks like such a great place to stay…love discovering new artists and the one on the left is by kelly tunstall.  boutique hotels like the library in nyc are such a great new trend. your fave hotels/inns (list them in the comments section)?  -m-

p.s. my fave ky painter?  patrick adams without a doubt…i remember walking into tower cerlan gallery years ago (now ann tower gallery) and his series of landscapes from france took my breath away.  here’s one of his pieces titled ‘after the rain’.

favorite things – fonts

Font_porteniawhat a month!  5 family visits in 4 weeks – 4 came here and we traveled for one but I think we can officially say the ‘tour de Audrey’ has ended…hmmm, or maybe this is just the beginning?  (jason and i have promised each other that we’ll keep christmas serene and low-key) thought i’d share a fave thing really quick – fonts!  especially loving this one (see left), La Portenia, and looking forward to using it for some projects! -m-

bonita

Bonita
got a call from Bonita saying that she was turning 50 soon and had a whole list of things to do to mark the occasion…one was getting professional photos done :)  so, bright and early on her birthday we had a terrific time – what an amazing woman.  she knew *exactly* what she wanted – CLOSE close ups :)  And when we started talking through possible locations she said, "Doesn’t even really matter – I just want my face." :)   i was thinking, "okay – this is a new one for me" but got really excited about being part of this iconic celebration of hers.  i knew i’d love her…and i did.  she’s a school teacher and as we talked and shot i found out a bit more of what was in store for the day, amongst them…a tattoo (her first and only)!  made me think a little about what i’d like to do to when 50 comes – maybe snorkeling in thailand?  oh, and having my photo made for sure!  -m-  p.s. tell me what you’ll do in the comments section

mmmm

today (july 21st) is national creme brulee day…really! (as if we needed an excuse!) have a good one ;) -m-

matt & lauren are terrific – an outdoor wedding and perfect weather, that’s a good pair!  I was lucky enough to also take their engagement photographs and during the reception, when the slideshow played, I was so happy that the photos from that session drew ‘awwwwh’s’ from the guests all in unison.  hopefully, these will do the same :)  so, here’s a little sneak peek!
