let’s hear it for…

Photobooth…photobooths!  i can’t pass one without getting photos of Jason and I.  a few weeks ago, we made a super quick trip to Gatlinburg (needed someplace close to figure out the ‘traveling with an infant’ stuff before we went on a longer trek) and had to stop at the drugstore on the main drag after pancakes @ Pancake Pantry (has anyone been there – I promise I wasn’t in love with pancakes before I went there years and years ago…oh so good!) for a quick family portrait.  if you know of old-fashioned photobooths in kentucky, submit them here @ photobooth.net. -m-

everett is my boy! have you ever met a child and you just knew they would grow up to be an interesting adult?  that’s this guy for sure!  love these photos because they’re full of life!  often parents expect that they need to contain their children for photo shoots. everett was the perfect example of a little guy who just had a lot of fun, didn’t stand in one place for very long and it always turns out great!

after shoots, sometimes parents will apologize if their kids are just running around but here’s the thing…I can keep up ;)  and we always get fantastic images – doesn’t everett look like he’s having a good time, too?  -m-

oh what a wedding…i love walking into to a home that is just a *perfect* reflection of the person who lives there (i’m talking about you joy robyn)?  this is what kalee & will’s wedding was like…it felt entirely and completely like *their* wedding day and no one else’s.  layer upon layer of beauty and graciousness.  every detail was so ‘them’ and steeped with meaning.  (side note: brides have the coolest degrees lately – kalee with art history and carrie [her photos will be coming in a few weeks] with historic preservation.) but aside from all the tangible evidence of a magnificent wedding it was the palpable feeling of love that made me happy all the way to my toes – not just from Kalee to Will and vice versa (although i thought will’s toast at the reception was especially poignant) but all the love the guests had for them.

so, let me get to image notes before i ramble on and on about the coolest clients on the planet!  #1 her awesome bouquet from Ford Ellington (859.781.0700 Ft. Thomas, KY)     #2 leaving the Seelbach     #3 what a cake – by the lovely Martine Holzman     #4 detail shot of menu…Kevin Ford, the event designer, put a gardenia here for Kalee (her favorite flower)    #5 k-a-l-e-e :)  a timeless beauty     #6 mint juleps     #7 at the end of the father-daughter dance, her dad swooped her up and swung her around – i adore her expression in this shot

their splendid wedding planner: Mackenzie Spalding of One Fine Day
reception location: Whitehall Mansion
