if you have young kids, you *must* go visit susannah at dragonfly children’s clothing (4371 Old Harrodsburg Road)…last week at dinner she brought audrey the most terrific hand-me-downs from her daughter, sofia and i am beside myself!  so fun!  i love cute hand-me-downs!  if it weren’t for her, i’m absolutely positive that audrey’s wardrobe would not have half the amount of color and great pattern it does!  here are a few photos from our visit last month to nyc…

oh goodness, what a blast to photograph these two…we had so much fun!  first, let me say it was f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g!  so cold i honestly had a hard time getting the lenses on and off because my hands could barely move yet they were total troopers!  now, last week when i was making my definitive list of all the things i adore most (you know, picnics, walks with jason and audrey, photobooths, london, project runway, ranunculus, custom monograms, mary janes, the color warm grey, striped ribbon…) cassidy made the list because she’s been exactly the person i needed around mmp, on SO many occasions.  she’s bright, cheerful, cute (so that she catches all the comments from single groomsmen at weddings…ah, so nice on me since i can concentrate on photography! but listen guys, as evidenced from the photos, she really *is* engaged!), organized, dependable…really, if there were a compilation of all the best human traits out there, cassidy would have them all!  she’s graduating soon and i thank my lucky stars that she’ll be staying in beautiful lexington rather than heading back home to ohio.  yay for mmp!  she’s definitely the ‘go to gal’ when i need an extra hand…or eight extra hands!  frankly, if i could write a song, i would write it about her and all her wonderfulness!  plus, have i even mentioned how angelic her family is?  they are rock-stars in the ‘sweetness dept’…i have a little crush on Mark and Cathy, her parents…they are SO darling!

i love making custom *anything* and i think these sweet bags would make great bridesmaids gifts!  -m-

fell in love with emily from the first email she wrote…you could tell just who she was: southern in all the best ways (with graciousness to rival any first lady) & unabashedly sweet to her very core.  and after meeting the other women in her family, it must be wound on the dna because her sister, mom and grandma (emily, you’ll have to remind me to share the sweet story your grandma told me in the hall before the ceremony) are all that way!  really, if you were to have to pick a group of women to spend the rest of your life with on a deserted island, this group would be hard to beat!  here are a few details from emily’s day-

i love the chance to do sessions with people i’ve met…don, is the PA that examined my foot a few years ago after returning from a long trip to italy.  i went into an urgent treatment center and i’ve got to tell you, if i ever have to go again, i’ll find him in his new location in georgetown because he has a bedside manner that rivals any sweet t.v. doctor! 

he called about getting photos with his darling dog, bella and I was so excited!  i’ve done sessions with animals (i love them!) but they are few and far between…and they always stand out in my mind because of the ‘fun’ factor involved. bella was incredible – and i love that now she’s captured with her biggest fan :)  thanks, don!  -m-
