thinking of fall

Boot if i can track down a few tweed skirts (a-line just below the knee), i think I’ll be wearing these great boots with tights all fall.  -m-

diane, clay + whitley

ohmycuteness – this family is apple pie and homemade jam,  4 of july parades and cotton candy, in short…everything lovely and wonderful!    it was at this same family home that they were married so it was a sweet reunion to walk onto the back lawn and see the great view again, to hug clay’s fantastic mom and to meet darling whitley.  but the biggest pleasure was just spending an hour to catch up – see, a wedding planner or cake baker don’t have quite the excuse that i do to stay in your life which is good because after we plan and deliver a great, gorgeous book from your wedding i miss you!  so yes, i’m anticipating babies as much as your parents…but, i promise, i keep it quiet and just patiently wait for the happy news ;)  happy monday!  -m-

finally!

Audrey_17_months
i interrupt your web surfing for a *big* mauer family moment…my darling daughter finally called me mommy!  she’s been saying dada f-o-r-e-v-e-r but this week she finally caught on (she has a pretty substantial baby vocabulary but hadn’t really rocked on any ‘m’ words).  and lemme tell ya, it makes my heart swell so big i think it’s going to burst, my smile can’t fit through the door and i lose my breath for a second…pure sweetness.  -m-

fell in absolute love with this family during this wedding weekend – just lots of little things that left my assistant and i convinced that we’d met some of the sweetest people on the planet.

dani & scott had a private moment before the ceremony  so that all the photos were done and they could go straight to the party afterwards.  and then they married on the *lawn* at pisgah presbyterian which was a first for me and so great!  pisgah is the darling stone presbyterian church out pisgah pike…absolutely perfect and there’s the cutest couple who help with weddings there.

dani & scott – we’re thinking of you at mmp!  hope santa barbara is treating you well!  -m-

image notes:
1 – dani’s mom, neile, after dani put on her dress (neile, by the way, wins the "most calm mother of the bride ever" award)
2  & 3 – super cute dani & scott
4 – i borrowed the lush petal filled aisle for a shot of the programs
5 – a sweet bridesmaid blowing bubbles out the trolley window
6 – grandma and a guest…i love these quick and sweet moments that happen aplenty on wedding days
7 – cocktail hour on the terrace @ dani’s parent’s home
8 – the bride and groom have a tradition of watching the sun set when they visit and stole away from the party to do the same this evening
