capturing and preserving memories of your child

great article for new parents full of good ideas on a topic that's so meaningful to me! i love hearing from moms-to-be who are already talking with photographers to discover who they'd like to have do the milestone photographs of their child because after your bundle of joy is in hand, life gets busy so having a plan in place makes it all so much easier!! -m-

the arnold family

Arnold

this was such a fun shoot – susan, the mother, gathered her children and grandchildren for a portrait and although i adore those, i pulled these two to share just because they were a couple we took just a moment for that ended up being favorites. these two girls, catron & campbell, couldn't have been more darling and anne (pictured with her mother in the bottom image) is SO fun! i loved how 'giggly' this family was – full of love, genuine smiles and sweet gestures – a perfect summer morning for me! this entire season i've been hearing something fun, "i picked up your card years ago at _____ (insert local spot), and when the thought came up to do a portrait, i pulled it out" – it's becoming a theme! so thank you, anne for holding onto my card and thinking of me – i can't wait to meet your sweet husband that susan goes on and on about :) this session was pure delight! oh, and i want to hear all about your dinner at babbo! -m-

a mother discovers with great delight that one does not love one's children just because they are one's children but because of the friendship formed while raising them. [gabriel garcia marquez]

in case you don’t have one already… (and happy 08.08.08)

Grocerylist
ultra organized mackenzie spalding mentioned to me months ago that she had laid out her grocery list to match the layout of her store, so when i saw this grocery list, i decided to amend it to match the layout of my closest grocery. absolutely love her daily docket idea as well! i love when people share their ‘systems’ for everyday stuff! so, in the spirit of sharing, here’s mine:

p.s. If you laminate your grocery list, you can use it again and again with a dry erase/projection pen (great idea, laura!!)

danielle + matt

Danielle

have you met someone and immediately wished you’d known them your whole life?  that’s completely the feeling you have around matt & danielle :)  just a handful of days prior to their wedding we spent a little time together downtown – talking, getting to know one another, and oh yes, making images :) -m-
