the lettered olive

my focus with photography is lovely children & beautiful weddings.  occasionally, i accept commercial assignments that tie into one of those two things as well – and this day long shoot was absolute bliss!  i particularly adore the designer, julia from The Lettered Olive (charleston, sc) so it was a day of creativity, fun & beauty.  below are a few details of their *beautiful* work.  and i must publicly acknowledge, the incredible contribution of my photo assistant diana (and her copious vintage jewelry) that made this shoot sail along so smoothly.   diana is a wonder to me! what would we have done without you?

by way of mmp news, ashleigh, our production manager has birthed the *cutest* little baby, and we’re delighted that he is here resting in the loving arms of his momma (hi pierce, i think this is your first official blog hello, perhaps?).  i’ll be out next week with a full itinerary of fun with my little girl while we enjoy her fall break so please excuse any mini delay in my replies.  enjoy the crisp fall air – i’m off to make some pumpkin chip bread!

In an age like ours, which is not given to letter-writing, we forget what an important part it used to play in people’s lives.

quote of the day

a father and daughter dance [ lexington wedding photographer: melanie mauer ]

i’ve been working on wedding images this morning, and a series of the bride and her father struck me.  perhaps because a friend just lost her father and the funeral is tomorrow.  but, what i clearly hope to express is that this is the sort of image you can count on seeing from your beautiful wedding – ones that are real in their emotion, true to you and your relationships with the people around you….but most of all, full of love.  because that, above all else is what a wedding day is about.  xoxo
