family time is the finest thing

had the loveliest time on family vacation this year…it was all i hoped for and so much more.  roadtrip (check!) time to read on the beach (check!) yummy lowcountry/south carolina food (check!)

for me, anticipation is a huge part of the fun so i made audrey a ‘roadtrip binder’ full of things to do – license plate search, i spy on the road games, and handwriting practice sheets i made online that would make her laugh that said things like “I like to be tickled” – i think i started packing a week early :)

and yet as much as we love vacation, we love home more…and i feel myself committing to move a bit slower to mimic the lack of multi-tasking you do while you’re traveling.

another reason to love summer – fresh fruits and vegetables!!  i know, we have them all year but they are SO much tastier now…and so i’ve picked up juicing/blending…do you?  yummy! (i *almost* packed my blender on the trip!)

what’s on your summer reading list?  i’ve re-read man’s search for meaning and i’m stunned by how great this book is that i’ve been reading the last couple of weeks (very business-y but good!) – I heard him speak with Ashleigh in Louisville last year on a condensed version of this book and am really enjoying the expanded thoughts.  oh, and i just downloaded love does.
